“The Grandson Scam”

If you have been told that a family member has been arrested in Hudson Canada do not send money, this is most likely a scam. If you have sent money do not send any more. The Town of Hudson does not have a municipal Police force! The Quebec Provincial Police (Sûreté du Québec) have jurisdiction. The Town of Hudson does not have a holding Jail or a holding facility within its community.

Public Security Service

The public security service insures the application of Hudson's Municipal by-laws. The criminal code, traffic violations, etc. remain under the jurisdiction of the Sûreté du Québec.

Since June 2002, the Town of Hudson, Quebec, Canada has been under the policing jurisdiction of the Quebec Provincial Police. Any inquiries or concerns for those arrested or detained should be submitted to the Provincial Police at the following number: 450-310-4141.

The patrol routinely notes problems related to traffic obstructions. The patrol helps with traffic situation during religious services and special events. This service also assists other municipal services in the case of zoning laws, construction, etc..
If you plan to be away from your home on vacation or extended periods of time, notify the Public Security Service. If they are aware of your absence, they will keep watch on your home.
