Le Nichoir is a registered non-profit conservation organization
located in Hudson (QC).
Mission: Conserving wild birds as a part of our natural heritage.
Le Nichoir provides proper care and treatment to injured,
sick or orphaned wild birds and releases them back into their natural habitat.
A few students work at the Centre in the summertime and benefit from valuable
hands-on experience.
More than 60 volunteers are also at the core of daily activities all year-round.
The Centre also provides advice and information about wild birds and their environment
through educational programs and free annual public events. It belongs to a community
of North American rehabilitators which is affiliated with the Inter national Wildlife
Rehabilitation Council and the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association.
The Centre also partners with 18 provincial organizations and institutions.
In 1994, Le Nichoir received 478 injured birds. Today, it is the largest rehabilitation
centre for song birds in Canada. The Centre admits more than 1400 wild birds,
responds to 5000 telephone calls and 1000 emails every year.
How to reach Le Nichoir:
For help on how to care for a wild bird in need or if you require assistance,
please consult Le Nichoir's web site - Birdhelp 911 Section - or call at 450-458-
2809. Calls will be returned as quickly as possible. You can bring an injured,
orphaned or sick bird during the summer season (from May 15 to September 15 )
from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm in Hudson. The barn is closed between September and May,
and the Centre is relocated. Please leave a message at 450-458-2809.

Visitors: the Centre is open to the general public free of charge, donations are
accepted. Group visits: groups are welcome by appointment only; please call to
make arrangements and discuss rates.
The Centre is accessible to wheelchairs.
