| Sewer and Water Infrastructure Projects Spring 2008 Construction starts on the largest municipal infrastructure project in Hudson’s history!
Mayor Corker takes the first shovel full to signify the beginning of the highly anticipated sewer and water infractructure project. The funding for this project is shared by the Federal Government ($7,038,578), Provincial Government ($7,038,578) and the Town of Hudson ($5,606,444). Funding upped to $14,077,056 for major waterworks upgrades in Hudson Sewer Project The sewer project consists of the construction of a waste water
collection system and a waste water treatment plant. This treatment plant is a
biological sequential batch reactor, a compact and powerful technology using closed
basins. It will be located on Wharf Road, next to the snow dump site. Sewer Works The sewer treatment plant construction will begin in March 2008
and will last approximately one year. Construction of the sewer system network
will begin in May 2008 and is scheduled for completion by mid-2009. Drinking Water Project In order to ensure a secure supply of water, a new well will be brought into service. Moreover, the quality of water will be improved by the addition of an iron and manganese removal system and by disinfection. Drinking Water Works The drinking water plant is in the final design stage and the certificate of authorization is expected soon.
Temporary Inconveniences The works will involve some inconveniences: your patience and
your collaboration are essential to the smooth flow of the project. Technical
Services will keep you informed, whenever possible, of street closures, detoured
roads and of interruptions to water services. Your next Bulletin, the local papers
and the Internet site (www.ville.hudson.qc.ca) will provide continuous updates. Sewer Connections Residential and business connections to the sewer system are the responsibility of the owners. No sewer connection may be activated before the 2009 wastewater treatment plant and network start-up. A notice will be sent to you in due course. Should you have any questions, please direct your inquiries to Hudson Technical Services Department at 450-458-0222 Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation!
